A massive, heart-led mission officially kicked off in Saida, southern Lebanon, on April 5, 2026. This second phase of the ‘Urgent Response’ project focuses on helping thousands of families who had to leave their homes due to the recent military escalation. Led by the Qatar Fund for Development along with partners at Qatar Charity and the Qatar Red Crescent, the team is on the ground making sure no one feels forgotten in the middle of this crisis.

The main goal involves getting help to families in southern Lebanon who are facing difficult shortages of food and a safe place to stay. This latest push targets people living outside official shelters who are struggling to find the basics. By heading directly into Saida, the project fills critical gaps and ensures that help reaches the doorsteps of those who need it most during these challenging times.
The aid includes a mix of everything a family needs to keep going day-to-day. Over 12,000 food baskets provide vital nutrition, but the support extends much further. Teams are also handing out warm blankets and mattresses to ensure people have a comfortable place to rest. The kits even include hygiene items and diapers, prioritizing health and childcare for those far from home.

This new phase follows a major operation that already supported more than 40,500 displaced families across Lebanon. It is part of a larger USD 2.35 million emergency plan designed to build resilience within the community. Even when the regional situation feels heavy, this ongoing commitment shows that Qatar remains dedicated to standing side-by-side with the Lebanese people until conditions improve.
