Qatar Strongly Condemns Assassination of Hamas Leader Haniyeh
Qatar has strongly condemned the assassination of Dr. Ismail Haniyeh, the political bureau chief of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), in Tehran. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the act as a heinous crime, a dangerous escalation, and a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian norms.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that such assassinations and Israel’s continuous targeting of civilians will lead to increased tension and escalate the cycle of violence in the region. The ministry reiterated Qatar’s steadfast stance against violence, terrorism, and criminal acts, including political assassinations, regardless of the motives and reasons.
