Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar has issued an order to care for 1,500 wounded Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and sponsor 3,000 orphans.

According to a Sunday release by Qatar News Agency, the Gulf State would oversee the transport of the injured in collaboration with Egypt in order to get them ready for treatment in certain, unnamed institutions.

The project is the result of Qatar sending 37 aircraft carrying 1,203 tonnes of supplies—food, medicine, and shelter—during the conflict.

89 Palestinians who were residents of Qatar were evacuated from the Gaza Strip on Saturday as part of the Gulf State’s humanitarian relief operations in the midst of Israel’s Gaza conflict.

The weekend flight occurred as a result of increased Israeli shelling in the Gaza Strip following the temporary ceasefire that was mediated by Qatar and Egypt and ended on Friday.

Over seven hundred Palestinians have lost their lives as a result of Israeli attacks since Friday, according to Al Jazeera.

Nearly 1.7 million Palestinians, or nearly 80% of Gaza’s total population, are without a place to call home.

On Friday, Qatar called for an ongoing ceasefire while expressing “its deep regret at the resumption of the Israeli aggression.”

Declaring a deadlock in the negotiations, Israel said on Saturday that it has removed its negotiators from discussions with Qatar, Egypt, and the United States due to a renewed stoppage.
