Qatari Residents Demand OneRepublic Concert Cancellation: “Genocide Supporters Are Not Welcome”
OneRepublic’s upcoming concert in Qatar is facing heat from residents who are demanding its cancellation over the band’s stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The residents are upset that the band, in a recent statement, condemned Palestinian attacks on Israel but didn’t mention the ongoing crisis in Gaza. Many Qataris view this as contradictory to their country’s support for human rights and social justice, and are calling for the concert to be scrapped altogether.
