Following Israel’s devastating offensive against Gaza in October 2023, these young changemakers, driven by a profound sense of empathy and social responsibility, spearheaded a diverse array of initiatives that collectively raised over 20.4 million Qatari riyals for humanitarian aid. Their unwavering commitment and creative efforts serve as a testament to the values instilled by Qatar Foundation’s educational system.
Each Qatar Foundation school showcased its unique spirit of solidarity through captivating initiatives, proving that even small actions can leave a lasting impact:
- Academiyati: This school embraced Qatar National Day to host a “Stand with Palestine” event, raising QAR 6,881through captivating solidarity activities.
- Awsaj Academy: With unwavering dedication, Awsaj Academy students spearheaded a fundraiser, amassing a staggering QAR 41,336 for the reconstruction of the Al-Fakhoora school in Gaza.
- Qatar Academy Doha: Their support took the form of a thrilling friendly football match, generating nearly QAR 20 million, while a separate bake sale organized by the same group contributed QAR 139,359.
- Qatar Academy Al Khor: Embracing a novel approach, this school held the “It Starts with a Step” event, weaving physical activity with social engagement to raise QAR 13,478 for Palestine.
- Qatar Academy Msheireb: Witnessing the entrepreneurial spirit of its Grade 2 students, the school organized a market where student-made products were sold, contributing QAR 11,697 to the cause.
- Qatar Academy Sidra Primary School: Dedicating an entire “Palestine Day” to raising awareness, this school’s students delivered a poignant performance, hosted a bake sale, and held Palestine-themed art class activities, collectively raising QAR 33,871.
- Qatar Academy Wakra: Their “One Body” campaign exemplified unity, gathering QAR 141,815 to support the people of Gaza.
- Smaller initiatives, like Tariq Bin Ziad’s “Palestine’s Duty” campaign and the interactive “From Qatar to Palestine, the Siraj Initiative” in Siraj school, also showcased the power of collective action, raising QAR 5,441 and QAR 32,085 respectively.
