Cristiano Ronaldo fans in Qatar may be in for a disappointment. The Portuguese superstar will reportedly not be playing in Al Nassr’s AFC Champions League clash against Qatar’s Al-Duhail on Tuesday due to fatigue.
Ronaldo was reportedly pictured alongside his team as they travelled to Qatar, but he was notably absent in the photos that Al Nassr posted on social media.
“Luis Castro, coach of Al-Nassr Saudi Arabia, preferred to give Cristiano Ronaldo a rest from the Al-Duhail match tomorrow, as the player suffers from fatigue,” Al Kass TV reported, according to a source.
Ronaldo’s absence is a blow to Al Nassr, who are looking to build on their 4-3 win over Al-Duhail in the first leg of the match last month. Ronaldo scored two goals and provided an assist in that match.
However, Ronaldo’s absence could also be a boost for Al-Duhail. The Qatari side will be eager to avenge their defeat in the first leg and will be looking to take advantage of Ronaldo’s absence.
The match is scheduled to kick off at the Khalifa International Stadium at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
