Reports: Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim Sends A Letter Of Complaint To The Owners Of Manchester United

Avatar

Looks like Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani isn’t taking his withdrawal from the Manchester United bidding process lying down.

After nearly a year of proposals, the Qatari banker has reportedly fired off a letter to the Glazer family, insinuating that they may have never intended to sell the club in the first place.

According to SportsZone, Jassim claims the Glazers were only interested in using the bidding process to increase the club’s valuation and sell minority shares at a higher price. Ouch!

Jassim’s final bid was reportedly around $6 billion, but it wasn’t enough to convince the Glazers to part ways with their prized possession.

Instead, they’re now in talks with British businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is only interested in buying a 25% stake in the club.

It’s a bit of a comedown for the Glazers, who were originally hoping to sell a majority stake in the club.

But hey, at least they’ll still be able to cash in on some of that sweet United money!
