This Is How Ashghal Prepared For Qatar’s Rain Season

Rain in Qatar might sound like a rare treat, but when the skies do open up, it can be a challenge on the roads. That’s why Ashghal, Qatar’s Public Works Authority, has been running drills to make sure the city is rain-ready.

How Ashghal is training for the storms

Ashghal’s fast-response teams have been busy simulating all kinds of rainy-day scenarios. From deploying hoses and firing up diesel pumps to laying down rubber ramps, the goal is to keep water off the streets and traffic flowing. The drills also tested how quickly and efficiently the teams could jump into action when sudden rain hits.

Always on alert

Beyond drills, Ashghal’s crews are staying on high alert by also monitoring flood-prone areas and offering immediate support where needed. With modern vehicles and gear ready to roll, the idea is to make sure life in Doha doesn’t stop just because of a downpour. In short: you might need an umbrella, but Qatar’s roads should stay safe and functional!
