Usain Bolt Turns Doha Into A Playground For Runners!

Fastest Man in the World + Doha Runners = PUMA Magic!!!

Doha’s running community had a major boost this week as PUMA hosted the Shakeout Run at Khalifa International Stadium. And yes, Usain Bolt made a surprise appearance! 🏃‍♂️⚡

Usain Bolt takes over

What started as a 1.5km warm-up quickly turned into an unforgettable experience when Bolt showed up, cheering on the runners. The event was filled with excitement, featuring trials of the latest PUMA NITRO running shoes and giveaways with partners Red Bull, Oakberry, and Burgeri.

Bolt didn’t stop there. After the Shakeout Run, he visited Newton International Academy Lusail, engaging with students through fun activities, and officially opened PUMA’s new store at Doha Festival City, where fans had the chance to meet the sprinting legend in person.

Usain Bolt talks legacy and life with Lovin Doha

Lovin Doha got the chance to ask Usain Bolt about his legacy, motivations, and his partnership with PUMA, and here’s what he had to say:

Lovin Doha: Usain, you’ve redefined what’s possible in sprinting. What advice would you give to young athletes who dream of following in your footsteps?

Usain Bolt: “I always say to young athletes to work hard, get a coach and training group, surround yourself with the right people, and most importantly, have fun.”

LD: What does it mean to you to be a part of the PUMA family, and how has their support impacted your career?
UB: “I’ve been a Puma athlete for 23 years. They are like family. They’ve supported me through everything, and I’m proud to have repaid them with medals and records.”

LD: How do you stay motivated after retiring from competitive racing?
UB: “Since retiring, I’ve stayed busy – working with my business partners, doing charity work for the Usain Bolt Foundation, and spending time with my family and kids.”

LD: If you could race any fictional character, who would it be?
UB: “Why not? Me, Sonic, and Flash in one race!”

LD: You’re known for your iconic victory pose. How do you celebrate after a great run?
UB: “I’d usually have a big party with athletes from around the world to relax and enjoy the moment after a championship.”

Johan Kuhlo, Managing Director of PUMA Middle East, summed it up perfectly:

“Seeing everyday runners, kids, and seasoned athletes share the same space is exactly what running is about, and it’s what PUMA will continue championing here in Qatar.”

With iconic athletes, interactive experiences, and plenty of fun, the PUMA Shakeout Run proved that Doha’s running community isn’t just growing… it’s full speed ahead.
