Almost 9,000 Volunteers Signed Up To Lend A Helping Hand At Abu Dhabi’s Special Olympics Next Month

Over the past three months, almost 9,000 volunteers signed up to help out at the World and MENA games from March 12 to March 14, which are part of the Special Olympics IX MENA Games this year in Abu Dhabi.

Hosting games and competitions for athletes with intellectual disabilities, this special game olympics will witness special athletes from the region and abroad – almost 1,000 athletes will take part.

Part of a bigger Olympics to be held in 2019

The 2018 special olympics is part of the Special Olympics World Games to be held in Abu Dhabi next year that will welcome athletes from around the world. This special event will require almost 20,000 volunteers. 

Volunteers can choose from roles such as: protocol, event managements, marketing, communications etc…

To include people with physical and intellectual challenges, both olympic games are behind the UAE’s move to support and include them in programs.
