The World’s Largest Caviar Tin Was Unveiled At A Swanky Atlantis NYE Gala And Guests Ate The Whole Thing

Light Up 2018 stole the show on New Year’s Eve, but there was another Guinness World Record broken in town that you may not have heard of.

At Atlantis, The Palm the title for world’s largest caviar tin broke a world record, after a tin weighing in at 50kg was unveiled at the swanky New Year’s Eve Gala dinner.

The tin was produced by luxury US caviar company AmStur along with Atlantis, The Palm and it totally obliterated the previous record for world’s largest caviar tin, which was recorded in 2016, weighing in at 17kg.

Guests at the gala ate the entire thing

Yup, the 5,000 strong crowd first snapped pictures and then got the chance to munch on the pricey delicacy using custom-engraved mother-of-pearl spoons which were produced to mark the occasion.

The evening looked magical

One weird fact about caviar

You can hear it.  When fish eggs rub against each other, the friction can be heard. A good caviar, when it’s packed, has a distinctly recognizable sound that’s been compared to a cat’s purr.

The more you know right?
