Chinese New Year 2018 fell on Friday, February 16 and Dubai did not hold back with vibrant celebrations.

With over one million Chinese visitors to the UAE in 2017 and 270,000 Chinese expats calling Dubai home, there are strong ties between the UAE and China.

So to celebrate the first day of the new year – the Year of the Dog – Dubai’s most popular tourist destinations hosted light shows and parades. Here’s what went down…

The Burj Khalifa went all out with a dragon-themed light and laser show

Emaar Properties put on an extraordinary  dragon-themed ‘Light Up’ show and you can catch it every day at 8pm and 10pm from now until February 24.
