Not your average library

This seven-storey building is designed in the shape of an open book on a lectern and is spread over one million sq ft.

With more than 1.5 million books, 1 million audio books and 2 million e-books to boot, it will be the world’s largest electronic collection and the biggest library in the Arab world.

The library will also host a permanent art gallery and 500-seat lecture theatre.

What a stunning creation it will be

It’s expected to receive around nine million visitors annually once open.
