If you or someone you know is travelling to the Dubai International airport, the authorities have a warning for you- allow extra time to reach the airport due to scheduled road closures today.

As per the Dubai Airports Official, between the hours of 4am and 8am on Friday, road works will be taking place at Terminal 1 exit in the direction of Garhoud.

Please exercise caution and use alternate routes, the warning said

تنصح مطارات دبي السائقين من و الى مطار دبي الدولي بأخذ الحيطة والحذر، يوم الجمعة الموافق 8 الجاري، من الساعة 4 صباحا و حتى الساعة ٨ صباحا، نتيجة أعمال تطوير على مخرج مبنى 1 باتجاه القرهود، و تدعو السائقين لاستخدام الطرق البديلة.

Alternative options to avoid traffic jams

The first option advises people to exit from Terminal 1 and follow the Rashidiya route onto Casablanca St, after which you can take the U-turn at the Junction with Airport Rd. 

The second option is to follow the signs towards Rashidiya, then to Terminal 1 and onto Airport Rd, West Bound. 

Although the roads are fully accessible again as of now, it’s always better to take caution and use alternative routes to reach faster today.
