Eid Holidays In The UAE Have FINALLY Been Announced

Avatar

The moon-sighting committee of the UAE, under the chairmanship of Minister of Justice, Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, met this evening to witness the Crescent of Shawwal.

All Sharia courts across the country were asked to look out for the crescent moon and inform the committee. An announcement was made shortly after Maghreb prayers stating that 6 July will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr. The private sector gets two days off for the occasion, in addition to the weekend. Therefore four days in total.

A few days ago, the Ministry of Labour declared that the first (6 July) and second (7 July) days of Shawwal would be paid holidays for the private sector.

Have fun and Eid Mubarak!
