Lebanese singer Elissa has announced she’s quitting the music industry via a tweet on Monday.
The much-loved superstar with incredible vocals sensationally tweeted she’s making the announcement with a heavy heart, but ‘a lot of conviction’ and she went on to declare the field she’s in is similar to the mafia.
Ouch!
She will complete her final album, before saying goodbye to the industry forever.
With a career that spans from the 90s to date and 11 studio albums under her belt, it’s no doubt fans of the singer will be shocked to read her statement.
I am preparing this new album with a lot of love and passion. The reason is that it will be the last one in my career. I am announcing this with a heavy heart but with a lot of conviction because I can’t work in a field that is similar to mafias. I can’t be productive anymore

What a sad news! I will never want to imagine this field without you. Not having you in the field is a great loss for your audience, your colleagues and the industry. You have my full support with whatever u decide, but I wish you can give this another thought ❤❤love you Alloos

Whatever the reasons are, you cant decide this by urself…
You are neither a private ownership nor those mafias can affect you anywhere or anyway, you are a public treasure. (To be continued…)— Tareck Karam (@TareckKaram) August 19, 2019
You shouldn’t give up dearest Elissa. The whole country is a mafia, the strong ones have to fight and you’re very strong and determined since the day you started your career
I hope you reconsider your decision because you’re loved and appreciated by those who matter— بولا يعقوبيان (@PaulaYacoubian) August 19, 2019
