This Middle-Eastern Airline has Unexpectedly Won ‘Best Airline Of The Year’

On Tuesday, Etihad Airways was awarded ‘airline of the year’ by Travel Trade Gazette (TTG), a travel magazine based in the UK.

The prestigious airline also took home the prize for ‘travel company of the year’ at an awards ceremony held in London’s West End.

With over 100 planes in the Etihad fleet, (excluding cargo) routes across the globe, a first class service which includes ‘The Residence’ – the only living room, separate room and ensuite shower on a commercial airline – and economy flights boasting first-rate entertainment and dining options, it’s no wonder Etihad took home the prize.

“I am delighted that we have won this prestigious award for the third time as it recognises the airline’s world-class product and service, as well as our strong commercial relationships with the trade.”

James Harrison, General Manager for Etihad Airways in the UK

Do you agree?

Although Etihad implements an excellent service, Emirates is undoubtedly a Dubai favourite and Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines are also known for providing an exceptional flying experience…We’re just not totally sure Etihad deserved the top spot, even if their first class option looks pretty epic.

This is what first class in Etihad looks like
