Flights From UAE To Istanbul Are Cancelled After Yesterday’s Attacks

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed condemned Tuesday’s terror attacks in Istanbul and expressed his condolences, while stating that UAE supported Turkey in its fight against terrorism.

The tragic incident (triple suicide bombing and a gun attack) which took place in Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport yesterday killed at least 41 people. Attackers began spraying bullets at the international terminal entrance before blowing themselves up at about 10pm Istanbul time (that’s 11pm UAE time).

Prime minister Binali Yildirim said the ‘evidence points to Daesh’.

While Emirates’ flights EK121/122 between Dubai and Istanbul were cancelled today, passengers were given the option to transfer services between Dubai and Sabiha Gökçen International Airport on EK119/120 instead.

Etihad Airways’ flights EY097/09 between Abu Dhabi and Istanbul were cancelled too. Passengers were given the option of one free-of-charge move to another date of travel on or before July 10 in the original class of booking or re-routing to either Athens, Larnaca or Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen airport.

FlyDubai flights weren’t affected as the airline operates from Sabiha Gökçen airport and not Ataturk airport.
