Geant Supermarkets Have Been Bought Out By A Dubai Retail Giant And Will ALL Be Rebranded

Majid Al Futtaim – the owner of the City Centre shopping malls, Mall of the Emirates and various retail brands has bought out the franchise owner of Geant supermarkets, and will be rebranding them all as Carrefour it has been announced. 

The 26 stores accross the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait will be converted to Carrefour stores under the management of Majid Al Futtaim, which operates the supermarket brand.

This will take the UAE count of Carrefour stores up to 80, from 67. 

The franchise was owned by Retail Arabia, which Majid Al Futtaim has now acquired. 

Majid Al Futtaim previously acquired Hyperpanda in Dubai Festival City to rebrand it as a Carrefour
