A woman recently gave birth to a baby on a Cebu Pacific flight from Dubai to Manila. The new mum, wasn’t due to give birth until October but surprised cabin crew and passengers a like when she went into labour.
According to the CEO of Cebu Pacific, Lance Gokongwei, the baby girl Haven was born approximately four hours after the departure of flight 5J015 from the Dubai International Airport last Sunday, August 14, 2016.
After the baby was born, flight attendants then washed and dressed the new born thanks to donations from fellow passengers flying with babies and infants.
Despite the fact that both mum and baby seeming to be happy and healthy, the flight was diverted to India to ensure the baby’s and mothers safety.
As icing on the cake, Cebu Pacific have also revealed the baby, which is thought to have been named Haven, will receive a lifetime of free flights from the airline.
“The lady started having contractions mid-flight, about five hours in going to the Philippines. She was set to give birth on October, so this came to a surprise, even to her Mother who picked her up from Dubai.”
“It was immediately decided that an emergency landing in India was necessary to ensure the baby’s health, as it was born 2 months earlier than expected,” added Umandal. “What was supposed to be a nine-hour flight became roughly 18 hours, but no complaints… everyone in that plane was blessed.”
