One of Dubai’s homegrown e-commerce concepts will be closing down.

Jadopado.com has been acquired by a ‘large regional business’ and sent an email to users, farewelling them and clarifying outstanding account information.

Speculation as to who bought out the company is rife with some looking at noon.com – which is due to launch in the region imminently

Otherwise it could be to do with IKEA UAE, as the Jado Pado twitter account regularly engages with it, and makes jokes about ‘being in love’ #Naw.

This would mean the site has been acquired by Al Futtaim.

It’s anyone’s guess at this stage.

It could mean bigger things for the UAE’s e-commerce scene which is already growing rapidly

Souq.com was bought out by Amazon, noon.com is primed for launching in the region and new sites are regularly launching.
