An AED800 million project that will link Jumeirah to Al Khail is nearing competition and will open later this year.
This road is a part of the first contract of the improvement of Latifa bint Hamdan and Umm Al-Sheef Streets Project. As per Mattar Al Tayer, director-general and chairman of the board of executive directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), 86% of the work has been completed.

“It would also accommodate the growing traffic volumes, and ease the mobility in various parts of Dubai. The project also complements RTA’s strategic plan for improving vertical traffic corridors such as the Airport Street, Tripoli Street, Al Yalayes Street and Al Asayel Street.
The first contract of the project covers the construction of Latifa bint Hamdan Street and Umm Al-Sheef Street from Al-Safa Interchange (2nd I/C) to Al-Manara Interchange on the Sheikh Zayed Road (3rd I/C),” added Al Tayer.
