We all heard the news last week that the UAE was getting its very own ‘Minister of State for Happiness’ …well now you get to meet her. And, if her necklace is anything to go by, she means business.
Ohood Al Roumi was sworn into office on Sunday and caused a right fuss on social media for accessorising her black abaya and blue sheyla headscarf with a gold necklace spelling out the word ‘Happy’. The large statement piece is likely from a 2013 Lanvin collection, which also ran a necklace with the word ‘cool’ …which we think she could totally rock too!
Ohood Al Roumi was previously the Director-General of the Prime Minister Office and was the first Arab member of the Global Entrepreneurship Council.
The new ministers of the UAE’s 12th Cabinet were sworn in before H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Sheikh Mohammed told the ministers that they were: “a source of pride for every Emirati as it is the first time that the country has a Minister of State who is 22 years old, and also has a Minister of State for Tolerance and a Minister of State for Happiness.”
We think there’s HAPPY times ahead for the UAE!
