The New Addition To Ibn Battuta Mall Proves It Doesn’t Want To Be Left Behind

It seems like malls everywhere are opening, revamping or expanding, and most recently, master developer Nakheel has started work on some massive upgrades for Ibn Battuta Mall.

The project, valued at AED850 million is underway, and will see the addition of a 55-storey residential tower, a 16-screen cinema, a multistorey carpark and an expansion to the existing retail area with the addition of approximately 30 shops.

The residential tower, Ibn Battuta Residences 2, will host 279 apartments and connect directly with Ibn Battuta Mall.

The first phase of upgrades was completed last year, which comprised of a 210m tunnel linking the Dubai Metro with the mall, a 300,000sqf retail extension and a 372-room hotel.

Further plans include another mall with a retractable roof, and a second hotel.
