OSN’s ASLI Studios are hosting an Iftar tonight, “+Sized” to acknowledge the lack of plus size representation in the creative industry, and specially in the Middle East.

The event is taking place in its own studios in the heart of Media City, where a panel discussion, a spoken word performance about body image empowerment and an interactive photobooth celebrating +Sized will be held.

The panelists will be individuals well recognized in their own fields and will be beneficial to this discussion.

• Shukriya Mohammed – Renowned blogger.
• Hala Barghout – Dietician and Fitness Instructor.
• Chantal Brocca – Lingerie Designer.
• Aseya Atiq – Plus Sized Model

The iftar will host two spoken word poets –

• Alysa Knowles – Spoken word poet and blogger
• Qutouf Yahya – Writer and poet.

The event will discuss a number of topics related to the plus sized world and their representation.

Topics include –

• What is +SIZE?
• Fit vs Fat
• How to train during Ramadan?
• Why is the creative industry not catered to the +size?

Apart from this, there’ll be a photo booth present recreating iconic women from the past and present and will be given as polaroids.

Val, a commercial make up artist, will be giving small talks about the different skin types and what make up suits best.

Engy, a menswear designer and illustrator, will be doing illustrations of the guests of the evening.
