A Planned Tower In England Is A Copy-Paste Job Of The Burj Al Arab

Avatar

You have to agree that the sail-shaped luxury hotel Burj Al Arab is PLAIN stunning. No debate!

And now this iconic structure will serve as inspiration to a tower in Plymouth, England. Part of an AED 193 million development called Meridian, the tower will be 11-storey high with 64 luxury apartments boasting sea views.

“The building will be held up by a series of curved steel ‘ribs’ and its sail-like shape means it has been likened to the famous Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai,” stated the Plymouth Herald.

A little about the project

While no start date has been given for the waterfront project, the report states it received planning consent in March 2015. They had expected the construction to begin last year and be completed in 2020. It has been designed by Burke Rickhards Architects and developed by UK-based company Linden Homes who also say they will create 213 jobs when they build the tower and two additional blocks at the Millbay Marina Village.
