Ever been driving on Sheikh Zayed Road and got annoyed? Yes…all the time.

Some people drive too fast, some too slow and then there’s the total idiots.

Well, the UAE traffic authorities have decided to do something about at least one of these groups by proposing an increase to the minimum speed on motorways. This is to tackle traffic jams caused by motorists who drive too slow.

One of the roads affected is Sheikh Zayed Road, where the current minimum speed is 60kmph.

The proposal is to increase the minimum speed on major roads to 100kmph to bring it closer to the maximum speed (on many roads) of 140kmph, as currently the margin between minimum and maximum is too high.
