For those who’ve been sharing their address as Tecom, it’s time to start getting used to a new one. The parent company, Tecom Group, states that the residential and commercial neighbourhood will no longer be called Tecom. Instead it will be called Barsha Heights. And that’s not it. Their neighbours, across Sheikh Zayed Road, will be known as Sufouh Gardens. Yes, the nameless spot that houses Gems Wellington International School and Fraser Suites. While residents seem to have mixed opinions about the name, we think your only concern at this point should be the confusion it MIGHT cause with your taxi rides in the coming days.
