There Are New Road Rules Announced For The UAE And PASSENGERS Can Be Fined Too

The Ministry of Interior has announced a new set of road rules to be implemented across the UAE. 

The rules aim to make UAE roads safer, with the regulations targeting children and passengers. 

The new laws require children aged under four, to be in a child seat in the car, while all passengers must wear seatbelts

Any passenger found not wearing a seatbelt can be fined. 

Children sitting in the front seat of a car must be taller than 145cm 

Overloading cars and illegally transporting passengers will attract a fine of AED3,000

Along with 24 black points.

Previously the penalty was AED200, and four black points. 

The regulations will take effect today
