Sharjah Police arrested a 27-year-old Emirati man, who is accused of abusing a three-year-old boy with cigarette buds after a hospital reported the burn marks to the child abuse helpline.
Apparently the three-year-old boy was dropped off at a family friend’s house, while the mother went out to run errands but when she returned she was unable to locate the child.
The man had allegedly taken him to a resort and return him to his mother five days later.
The boy was in bad condition, which led the mother to take him to the hospital and that’s when the marks were recovered.
After searching for the man, Sharjah police arrested him after finding hiding at home under a bed. And child protective services accused the boy’s mother of negligence.
She was allowed out on bail and stayed with her son at the hospital while he recovered and was later send to a child protection shelter when he got better.
