Dubai Municipality is hosting a Car Free Day and is strongly urging motorists in Dubai (and other emirates) to ditch their cars and use public transport on Sunday.
February 24 will mark the 10th edition of UAE Car Free Day, having introduced the initiative in 2010, and it’s time you do your bit for the environment.
This is great considering it’s the perfect weather for walking, plus traffic sucks during peak hour so taking public transport (bus, metro or tram) makes all the more sense!
According to the Dubai Municipality, the day is aimed at “raising Dubai’s profile among the world’s eco-friendly cities by finding all sustainable and effective solutions to meet various environmental challenges”.
Not only it will decrease carbon emissions…it’s also an excellent way to reduce traffic congestions and start your day with a dose of exhilarating physical activity.
Not just a day, every day! Be a part of this event. Stay tuned!#UAECarFreeDay pic.twitter.com/fgojkbvfDs
