1500 Labourers Competed For A Spot In A Talent Show And It Culminates On Friday Night

More than 1,500 labourers have auditioned to become the next big thing with a talent competition called Smart Idol. 

The talent competition visited 15 labour camps and hand picked the winners. 

The competition finals are on Friday evening at the Sheikh Rashid auditorium in Oud Metha, where the 18 shortlisted acts will be battling it out for top spot. 

The competition is run by SmartLife Foundation

Previous winner, Ejaaz Ahmed worked as a delivery man when he applied, and has since progressed to sing for ZEE TV as a playback singer, working professionally.  Another winner from previous years, Biji Mol was a bus conductor at a local school, and is now performing at events around the region.
