Blogger Elena El Sabbagh Just Won TikTok’s Top Award & Shares How To Make It Big

With 1 million Instagram followers and 5 million on TikTok, Elena El Sabbagh is one of the Middle East’s most popular content creators. Recently crowned TikTok’s Entertainment Creator of the Year 2025, Elena has spent the last eight years turning everyday experiences into relatable, must-watch content.

From friends’ sketches to viral fame

Elena started posting sketches and short comedic videos on Instagram for her friends. “My sister told me, ‘Why don’t you post on TikTok?’” she recalls. She began posting six to seven videos a day, gradually growing her audience from 100K followers to millions.

“I didn’t see any income from social media until three years ago,” Elena says. “The first five years were just me investing my time. Now it’s my full-time job.”

She balances humor and relatability

While Elena initially explored documentary filmmaking—winning awards for a film about her hometown, Tripoli, Lebanon—she ultimately focused on comedy. Her content covers everyday struggles, toxic friendships, and marriage advice, connecting deeply with viewers. “Sometimes people relate to it, and they like it. I don’t get a lot of hate,” she shares.

Grounded in fame

Despite her success, Elena remains approachable. “Fans feel like family,” she says. She moved to Dubai three years ago with her husband to grow her social media career and appreciates the city’s supportive creator community.

The scoop on success

Elena encourages aspiring creators:

  • Be yourself: “Don’t fake it. If you fake it, people will see. Just be yourself and people will love you for it.”
  • Work hard and be consistent: “I posted six or seven videos a day for years. The first five years were just me investing time. Consistency matters.”
  • Start small and set goals: “My goal at first was just 100K followers. Then 500K, then a million. Take it step by step.”
  • Embrace the journey, not just the outcome: “Don’t expect instant success. Enjoy creating, and the audience will come.”
  • Protect your personal life: “Share what you want to share, but keep boundaries. Not everything has to be public.”

Her journey proves that authenticity, humor, and dedication can turn everyday moments into global recognition, inspiring millions across the Middle East and beyond.
