If there’s one thing that we all have learned this Ramadan, it’s that we’re a generous nation. From government-led campaigns to improve the lives of the under privileged to residents doing their bit for blue collar workers in the city, we’ve witnessed it all this month.
It’s not too late to get involved. Head over to the malls this weekend.
Majid Al Futtaim group’s ‘Make a Difference’ Ramadan campaign, in partnership with Red Crescent Society, encourages residents to donate toys, clothes and books to those in need. Collection points are located at their malls: Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Me’aisem and City Centre Al Shindagha, plus at Carrefour, Magic Planet, Ski Dubai and Vox Cinemas.
Women can apply henna at the tent located in Mercato mall and proceeds will be donated to children at Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre. This service is available from 6pm to 10pm daily. The other option is to make a donation of AED 25 that allows you to participate in the ‘Guess and Win’ competition. It’s quite fun! Guess the value of items in a hamper and if the figure matches / is closest to the actual cost of the hamper you could win a prize on the last day of Eid.
Ibn Battuta Mall’s China and Tunisia Courts will be home to Dar Al Ber Society‘s giant donation boxes. Residents are encouraged to contribute books, shoes, clothes and money. These items will be distributed to the needy.
