Cycling around the city will soon become the norm thanks to a fruitful initiative powered by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The ruler of Dubai announced launching the Sky Garden project on Tuesday, which will be ten steps ahead of an average footbridge- complete with green spaces, jogging tracks and bicycle lanes.

3,500 bicycles will stationed across the city!

Yep, you heard it. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem have joined legion in order to operate 3,500 bicycles in Dubai for people to rent out.

Cyclists and those looking to kickstart a healthier life will be able to rent the bikes with credit cards, NOL cards or their phones.

More than 350 stations in Dubai will have these smart bicycles stationed.

The future is here! Even Dubai’s cycling system will have GPS

The smart features of these bicycles means it’ll be able to do:

  • Track the bicycles’ locations
  • Predict if an area is highly occupied
  • Connect through GPS!

Many of Dubai’s cyclers will surely be BUZZING for this.
