Following On From Robocop Dubai Police Are Now Launching Self-Driving Cars

Avatar

The latest piece of high-tech hardware to help Dubai Police has been announced with self-driving cars.

The self-driving patrol cars will drive around the streets of the UAE monitoring security situations.

The cars will be able to be programmed to monitor set areas and suburbs of Dubai, using cameras and sensors to identify people and places and follow suspects.

They will be activated with voice commanders and fingerprint scanners to ensure the highest level clearance for access to the cars, and will be connected to a security base for communication.

They’ll be unveiled officially at the next GITEX event so the public can see them in all their glory.

Dubai Police have been pioneers in security technologies, including the launch of robotic police offers earlier this year

The robocops were announced in 2016, and have been slowly released to different stations. They’ll be expected to fight crime in the future, but for now are available for information, and to pay fines.
