If you’re big on sorting your rubbish and recycling, you’ll love this! Dubai Recycles is an e-platform that Dubai Municipality just launched. This platform is aimed at reducing the quantities of wasted and potentially recyclable materials, Abdulmajeed Saifaie, Director of Dubai Municipality’s Waste Management Department stated.

Unfortunately many recyclable materials end up in landfills and it’s time to start sorting.

If you want to be part of the recycling journey, click here to find out how!

Individuals, companies, and government entities in the city can now exchange recyclable and reusable materials online

The portal will connect those who have recyclable materials with firms that need them

firms that find themselves in need of recyclable materials can find them through the Dubai Recycles portal and turn them into new products. The portal is accessible through the Dubai Municipality website.

It links the reusable or recyclable materials generating party (individuals and companies) with the other parties that may benefit from materials in manufacturing new products. This contributed to promoting Dubai’s adoption of the concept of a circular economy

Saifaie said it’s also the first of its kind in the region.

It has several features, such as the list of recyclable and useable materials, the possibility to follow up on the status of materials listed by site users, and browsing the materials offered by all groups.

Saifaie added.

Hopefully more individuals, institutes, government entities and businesses can help Dubai be more environmentally friendly by utilising Dubai Recycles.

The initiative contributes directly to achieving goals of the national index for diverting 75 per cent of waste from the landfill, and thus raising the rates and quality of recycled materials and achieving the strategic objective No. 19 of the municipality’s strategic plan for integrated waste management

Said Saifaie.
