Emirates Airlines Is Allowing Lebanon Passengers To Carry “Much-Needed Extra Baggage”
A fuel tank explosion in Lebanon left 20 dead and 79 with fatal injuries at a time when the country has been going through a major fuel crisis. There is a major fuel shortage in the country and a scarcity in medical supplies.
Dubai residents have taken to social media to host donation drives to send the necessary supplies to Lebanon. Many have already gathered the donations and headed to Beirut. Emirates Airlines have been aware of the severity of the situation and decided to help.
The extra baggage allowance will start this week until September 30, 2021. The news was released on August 25.
Emirates passengers will be able to take advantage of an additional 10kg of baggage to pack essential items to support Lebanese citizens. The airlines stated that the 10kg additional baggage will be available on tickets book in Economy and Business class from UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.
Emirates customers that are travelling to Beirut, transiting in Dubai, from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Zambia, Angola, Guinea, Senegal, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Ghana will be eligible to carry an addition piece of luggage that’s 23kg.
