Is it just us or is it impossible to keep track of the Dubai social calendar? It’s chockablock… especially since the weather is finally ‘cooling’ and events planners are feeling brave enough to start hyping outdoor events.
Huge DJ names, terrace brunches, and of course it being October there are a couple of great Oktoberfests going on. But what’s actually worth your while? Here’a our pick of the best events coming up.
As concert venues go this one is up there with one of the best in Dubai. Because you can enter at any hour of the day, there are rarely massive queue issues, you can party to a DJ or chill out nearby on grass with some shisha. And for this seasons big party, they’ve gone all out with some serious names.
Where? Zero Gravity. When October 21st. See here for ticket information.
This is probably our favourite Thursday evening brunch. Sitting outside with the best view of the Burj Al Arab that Dubai’s got, some great grazer plates, and, best of all, once it’s over the venue’s got a night club so there’s no need to trek to a new spot post-brunch. AND they’ve just opened a new Friday 180° brunch too. Starting at 1pm, we tried this one recently and (surprisingly) a strong sea-breeze meant the weather was very manageable.
Where 360° Jumeirah. When? Thursdays (7pm-10pm) Fridays (1pm-4pm)
Another great set up for Oktoberfest, this event is running for two weeks starting from Thursday October 20th. Dubai has three great Oktoberfest venues; one at the Grand Hyatt, one at Sports City, and this one at Media City. They all serve up massive amounts of beer in the traditional maß (litre) servings, they all have brilliant uplifting bands straight of Bavaria and they’re all great fun. Visit at least one of these before October is out.

You like dance music? Then mark this one down. In previous years it’s been located at Meydan but this year the global party (with it’s UNREAL light show) is upping sticks and moving out to the desert by Bab Al Shams, giving it a bit of a Burning Man feel. The headliners this year include Mr. White, Afrojack, Ummet Ozcan and Aly & Fila.

The Ripe Market has returned and we couldn’t be happier. Visit the Al Barsha park every Saturday evening, stock up on organic fruit and veggies, browse the home grown stalls filled with quirky handcrafts and finish you evening with a meal from any of the assorted food trucks… all under a beautiful lighting display.
When? Every Saturday 3pm-9pm
Cavalli Club are known for bringing in some big acts to the exclusive venue and next week is no different. From collaborating with everyone from Diddy and Snoop Dogg to Rihanna and DJ Khaled, you can expect a pretty stellar performance next week from this multi-award winning rap artist.
