Lovin’ Community Support: 10 Real Stories And Connecting People Who Can Help

In times of uncertainty, community matters more than ever. That’s why Lovin’ Dubai launched Lovin’ Community Support, an initiative aimed at supporting individuals and businesses across the UAE who may be struggling during the current crisis.

Through this campaign, people who need help can share their stories with Lovin’ Dubai’s audience of more than two million readers, creating an opportunity for the community to step in and offer support where it’s needed most. From small businesses facing challenges to individuals navigating difficult circumstances, the goal is simple: connect those who need help with those who can give it.

Starting Monday, March 16, we’ll begin sharing the stories of 10 community members and do our best to connect them with people who can offer support

Story 1: A widow with 4 kids looking for temporary accommodation

A widowed mom Dubai was seeking temporary accommodation to give her four children a change of environment and some extra comfort. Raising children aged 6 to 21 on her own, she says she does her best to stay strong for them through everyday challenges.

I am a widow living in Dubai with my four children, ages 6–21. There are many moms carrying things by themselves,” she shared. While the family has been managing well, she hopes a quieter space will help her children feel even more at ease.

Reflecting on past experiences, she added: “When Covid happened, my husband was alive. Going through challenges on my own now has made me stronger and more determined to support my children.”

As the family’s sole provider, she is seeking a temporary place where her children can feel relaxed and comfortable, while she continues to care for them.

Story 2: A family-run neighbourhood spot in Business Bay is calling on the community for a little support

Naughty Pizza was started by Bart Misztal and his wife Monika as a passion project during COVID,  a leap of faith that turned into something much bigger than they imagined. What began as a team of two has grown into a close-knit family of 22, built on hard work, resilience, and a genuine love for bringing people together.

But like many small restaurants across the city, recent regional tensions have led to a drop in guests. Despite the challenges, their message is simple and heartfelt: their doors are still open. They’re welcoming anyone who needs a warm place to sit, eat, and feel at home, just as they’ve always done.

The Ask: For Bart and Monika, this isn’t just a business. “It is our home, and we share it with every guest who walks through our doors.” If you’re thinking about your next meal, they’re hoping you’ll consider stopping by or placing an order, a small gesture that goes a long way in helping keep their dream alive.
