Residents Were So Keen To Help A Local Business That They Have Been Totally Overwhelmed And Can’t Accept Any More People

When Moti Roti shared the information on its Ramadan volunteering programme, the organisers could never have expected the massive enthusiasm they were tapping into.

The story about the campaign, where local businesses whip up iftars to share with labourers during Ramadan went live on Sunday, and within a couple of hours of the story being shared, Tahir says the inbox crashed with overwhelming support.

The 300 slots helping distribute iftars to labourers in JLT were filled almost instantly.

Organiser and founder, Tahir Shah says it was unlike anything he’s seen before

“We needed support, for the whole of Ramadan, totalling 300 volunteers and within hours we got 300 signed up, so much so, that we had to turn so many away!

“We’re even thinking how we can accommodate all these extra people who want to help.

“Everything got done in one day, and we are so happy and excited to start Filling The Blues this year.”
