Sheikh Mohammed Visited The Bloomberg Offices And Spoke About Press Responsibility

In a show of commitment by the state to invest and support business environments, The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the Bloomberg regional headquarters in Dubai on Sunday.

Dubai as a regional hub for media

During his visit Sheikh Mohammed spoke about Dubai’s continued efforts to assume its position as a regional hub for media by maximising relations with global media organisations. In his speech he also stressed the importance of maintaining the principle of partnership between the public and private sectors, he addressed the challenges facing media today, the responsibilities the media shoulders as the public’s primary access to news and information and discussed the UAE’s commitment to invest in the youth.

The media world faces challenges but it also has great responsibilities.

Sheikh Mohammed referenced the influence news has on society today. How news is the best form of delivering information to the public, and the responsibility lies in doing so objectively and impartially.

The UAE is committed to investing in young people

Investing in the youth and enabling them to progress in their own fields. The state is also committed to preparing a media-conscious generation, capable of contributing to the Arab media landscape…

“It is very significant to offer youth with enabling environment by which they can play pivotal roles and participate in building the future. The UAE is always keen on preparing generations of conscious media figures who are able to develop media sector not only in the UAE but also in the Arab world.”
