Last night, on Tuesday, July 16 UAE residents witnessed the last visible lunar eclipse till the next four years.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth aligns itself in-between the sun and the moon, casting its shadow on the moon, thus giving the moon a reddish glow.
Although, yesterday sapiens only got to experience a ‘partial’ eclipse, where only a part of the moon’s surface was covered by the earth’s shadow.

A strange coincidence but apart from Tuesday, July 16 marking the last visible lunar eclipse in the UAE it also marked the 50th anniversary of the world’s first mission to the moon – Apollo 11.
That’s a little trivia for you right there.
