The Emirati Defence Forces hosted a ceremonial guard of honour for him, marking the moment with a trumpet salute and a formal farewell. The Indian Air Force C-130J transport aircraft landed to bring Namansh Syal home, guided by ground crew in a display of international respect and solidarity. The ceremony was a powerful reminder of the bonds between nations and the shared grief over the loss of a brave pilot.
Indian Ambassador to the UAE Deepak Mittal and CG Satish Sivan led the tributes, offering flowers and heartfelt gestures at the flag-draped coffin. The scene was deeply moving as military personnel and family members, including his wife and daughter, showed incredible strength while being welcomed by crowds chanting patriotic slogans at Kangra Airport. The remains of Wing Commander Syal were finally brought to his native village, Patiyalkar, where the community gathered to say their goodbyes.
May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the outpouring of love and respect from around the world.
