In the heart of Dubai’s bustling industrial areas and vibrant neighborhoods, a quiet revolution of kindness is taking place.
While the city’s skyline often captures global attention, it is the spirit of community on the ground that truly defines the soul of the emirate, a spirit embodied by brothers Imraan and Mohamed Kareem.
What began in 2015 as a humble effort to support local workers has grown into a year-round operation that peaks during the Holy Month of Ramadan, transforming the lives of thousands through the simple, powerful act of sharing a meal.
The story of Happy Happy UAE is deeply rooted in Dubai’s culture of giving. Inspired by their late father’s habit of offering cold drinks to workers during the summer heat in 2006, the Kareem brothers decided to formalize this kindness.
During Ramadan, the scale of their work is nothing short of inspirational. The brothers personally oversee the distribution of over 33,000 free Iftar meals every single day across 20 different locations.

For Imraan and Mohamed, this isn’t just about charity; it’s about “Happy Happy,” a philosophy that everyone, regardless of their background or profession, deserves to feel seen, respected, and happy.
The sheer volume of the operation reflects the brothers’ dedication. Each day during the Holy Month, their team prepares:
The preparation begins at dawn in multiple kitchens across the city. By 5:00 PM, the brothers are on the ground at sites like Dubai Investments Park and Jebel Ali, working alongside a diverse army of volunteers.
While food is the cornerstone, the impact of Happy Happy UAE stretches far beyond the dinner plate. The initiative has evolved to include paying off fines for inmates to reunite families, providing air tickets for those in need to return home, and distributing essential “ration boxes” to struggling families.
The brothers shared how the initiative has become a family legacy.
Imraan’s daughters have now joined the cause, leading efforts to distribute kits to women in need, ensuring the next generation carries forward the UAE’s values of tolerance and generosity.
It bridges the gap between different walks of life, proving that a conversational approach to kindness, simply showing up and saying “thank you.” can change the social fabric of a community.

It is this “proud-of-the-city” energy that makes their work so resonant. They aren’t just feeding people; they are celebrating the contributors of Dubai and fostering a sense of belonging that lasts long after the final dates of Ramadan are shared.
