The UAE Police Went The Extra Mile To Rescue A Family Lost In The Desert Fog

Avatar

An Indian family based in Umm Al Quwain were stranded in the middle of desert during a near zero visibility fog, earlier last week.

The family was returning from Umm Al Quwain from Sharjah airport late one night and missed their exit due to the low visibility.

There were no street lights and the visibility was under 10m and they had to park on the hard shoulder on the highway

They called up 999 and luckily a police patrol drove by. They signaled the patrol and the policeman asked them to follow him but because of the low visibility they lost him eventually.

Luckily another 4×4 vehicle drove past them and guided them to the main road.

It just so happened the former policeman (who was still looking for them on the highway) was still waiting for them on a further point on the highway and drove them all the way back to the entrance of Umm Al Quwain.

The family told Khaleej Times that they were extremely thankful to the police and felt extremely blessed to live in such a safe country.
