UPDATE: Tuesday, 18 August. The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai clarified residents DO need GDRFA approval before returning to Dubai. If you’re unsure, check with your airline for their procedures. See it here

Entry permits for residents to return are no longer required.

The announcement by the NCEMA coincides with business activities resuming and the end of the summer holidays.

From today, pre-approval will be automatically granted for expat residents wishing to return without the need to apply for an entry permit.

You’re still advised to update your data on the gov website: (smartservices.ica.gov.ae) to verify your travel docs.
