At the COVID-19 media briefing last night, Dr Omar Al Hammadi, the government briefing spokesperson gave his usual updates, and the message was clear… As we enter into the long weekend, it is the national duty to observe social distancing, considering what’s at stake.
He said following the simple practice is effective and has proved to show a positive significant impact.
He went on to say that studies show children get similar but less severe symptoms of COVID-19. They can be asymptomatic, so families are advised to keep children distant from the elderly and people with chronic diseases. He also stated the death rate for men is higher than for women, however this could be because men have a higher number of chronic and tobacco-induced diseases.
