Expo 2020 Update: It’s Just 1,000 Days To Go And Here’s Everything You Need To Know
The 1,000 day countdown is on!
Work at the site is well underway for the grand opening in 2020 and with just 1,000 days to go; here’s what you can look forward to.
World expos are designed to share ideas, showcase innovation, and encourage collaboration and the Expo 2020 theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ is underpinned by three key elements; opportunity, mobility and sustainability.
150,000 visitors daily
Over 180 countries have already signed up, with grant projects worth AED25,000 given to explore future thinking. All countries will host a pavilion at the site, which is expected to draw 150,000 visitors DAILY.

Participating countries will begin building their own individual pavilions from April this year
The site, which will be serviced by a new Metro line, is expected to bring 25 million visitors over the course of the event.
The venue is under construction

It doesn’t end in 2020
The UAE pavilion is sustainable, and once the event finishes, it will be a business-friendly environment.
Yup, 80% of the impressive development will lend itself to future projects following the event. The area will be used to host various initiatives including a free zone, commercial centres and a residential complex according to Wam.ae.
The remaining 20% will be dismantled and returned to the countries it came from to promote sustainability.
