The annual Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, is coming up.
Houses will be decorated with lamps and candles, prayers will be recited, sweets and gifts will be exchanged. And if you want to make it a little more special then a nice meal with family and friends will do the trick.

In addition to its vibrant decor and incredible views of Burj Al Arab from its terrace, the North Indian restaurant will offer diners traditional curries and sizzling meats cooked with aromatic spices. Chef Pravish Shetty’s special menu for the occasion includes vegetarian dishes such as sago pearl cutlets, raw banana dumplings, lemon pulao and bottle gourd fudge.

Celebrations begin early with MAHEC offering a Diwali-special Friday brunch from AED 149 onwards. If you’re looking for something to do on the day, it has you covered with its four-course set menu offering dishes such as malai broccoli seekh, dal bukhara, vegetarian korma and traditional desserts like gulab jamun and kulfi. The set menu costs AED 155 (vegetarian) and AED 165 (non-vegetarian).

Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia’s restaurant won’t be offering a special menu for Diwali but diners can still enjoy star dishes such as the seafood trilogy, kokum sea bass and dal maharani on the day.
